Welcome To SoloTrekker - A Personal Travel Blog

SoloTrekker

I love the desert... the solitude.

Along the trail, trying to clear my busy mind and concentrate on the present. Looking up, looking down, looking behind... hey, that reminds me of a RUSH song!  You still have to be alert in the open desert. There are animals with fangs and plants with fangs, too! I never have been bitten by a snake, ants yes, and a few cholla cactus that like to just "jump" on me. Why? lol

Some call it a wasteland and emptiness, dry and hot. I call it my Shangri-la, my Xanadu. Have you ever been in the desert after a fresh rain? Whoa, that smell! There's even a name for it... petrichor. Next time the weather forecast calls for monsoon conditions in the desert... GO!

Do I like the mountains, the beach, the valleys, and the plains? Of course! I love all natural beauty on this earth. So, let's do this. Sit back and enjoy. I'm not a professional writer or photographer, so constructive criticism only, please. One area I hope to explore is filming and editing my treks into short 3-5 minute movies. Well, see.
